The Park

We think the main park area is quite a special space. We have a wide variety of ornamental trees, a well-stocked herbaceous border, terraced beds with roses and lavender, and over 2000 daffodils planted across the beds and grass.

This area is very popular with dog owners, who appreciate the safety of an enclosed space and the opportunity for both owners and dogs to meet with their friends. We strive to ensure that the space is also welcoming to other users, reminding dog walkers to check that dogs are supervised and well-behaved and doing all that we can to minimise dog waste.

The Playground

Our fantastic playground was installed by the Council in consultation with WWA in 2012. The equipment was chosen to suit a broad range of ages, from swings and slides for tiny toddlers, through to a challenging climbing frame for under 12s. It’s very popular on sunny weekends - a lovely place to meet some friends and have a good play.

WAR Memorial

Westerly Ware was created as a memorial to the dead at the end of WW1. The Memorial Garden is a quiet space and its memorial arch is still a focus for community Remembrance Services on special anniversaries.
