Fun for all at Westerly Ware

There’s something for everyone at Westerly Ware. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to read under a shady tree, meeting friends for a daily dog walk, improving your serve or enjoying our fantastic playground, there’s plenty of space and everybody is welcome.

The Park

We think the main park area is quite a special space. We have a wide variety of ornamental trees, a well-stocked herbaceous border, terraced beds with roses and lavender, and over 2000 daffodils planted across the beds and grass.

This area is very popular with dog owners, who appreciate the safety of an enclosed space and the opportunity for both owners and dogs to meet with their friends. We strive to ensure that the space is also welcoming to other users, reminding dog walkers to check that dogs are supervised and well-behaved and doing all that we can to minimise dog waste.

Our newly installed picnic table has proved popular even before the arrival of summer, and this year we hope to improve the pathway between the park and the playground to encourage more family use of this space.

The Playground

Our fantastic playground was installed by the Council in consultation with WWA in 2012. The equipment was chosen to suit a broad range of ages, from swings and slides for tiny toddlers, through to a challenging climbing frame for under 12s. It’s very popular on sunny weekends - a lovely place to meet some friends and have a good play.

The Tennis courts

Westerly Ware contains 3 tennis courts and is a stunning place to play. All coaching at the courts is provided by Sheen Parks Tennis, which can be found online.

There are classes for the Spring Term and bookings are welcome throughout the term. Please call Head Coach, Caroline Jordan on 07917844294 if you would like any advice about how to arrange coaching for you or your child.

Want to book a court? - Quick, clear and easy; the ClubSpark booking system allows you to make a booking up to 6 days in advance without any hassle. Simply register, select a time and date, book and pay for your court and then you’re ready to play! You can also make bookings via the ClubSpark Booker App from your App Store for both IOS and Android.

With our new family membership of  just £50 a year, you can play up to two hours of tennis a day. There is also a free kids membership. With courts valued at £8 an hour on a pay and play basis, purchasing a membership will mean you’re likely to get your money back within weeks and so if you’d like to take advantage of this fantastic deal, please visit the Play Tennis Richmond website.

WAR Memorial

Westerly Ware was created as a memorial to the dead at the end of WW1. The Memorial Garden is a quiet space and its memorial arch is still a focus for community Remembrance Services on special anniversaries.
